Don't use frames when constructing you Homepage. Search engines are looking for one page when looking up your site. When you have a frame set a search engine will see as many sites as you have frames. For example, if you have two frames on your homepage the search engine will see two websites instead of one, and you will not receive a proper listing. 2. Don't use Refresh tags on your Homepage Refresh tags are forwarding tags that move you from one page to another. A search Engine will not be able to read your page because you are moving to another page. This does not allow the search engine to read your site, and you will not get a proper listing. 3. Don't use Image Mapping on your Homepage. Image Mapping allows you to associate a particular area of the page with a hyperlink. These are called hotspots and cannot be read by a search engine, so you will not receive a proper listing. 4. Don't use URL Forwarding on your Homepage. URL Forwarding is used to move from one URL to another URL. A search engine needs to have a website at the submitted URL to read. A Homepage using URL Forwarding will not receive a proper listing. You have to us a cloaking system to forward your web site to a other location. 5. Don't have Flash Files for your Homepage. A Search Engine cannot read this type of file. A Homepage using Flash Files will not receive a proper listing. You can only use this on secondary web site.
